The Institute for Energy and the Environment (IEE) at Vermont Law School calls for applications into a two-year Global Energy LLM Fellowship beginning August 2018. The fellowship offers the opportunity to obtain an LLM degree in energy law from one of the leading energy and environmental law programs in the nation combined with the opportunity to gain practical energy law experience on a variety of policy coordination, research, and educational outreach projects.

The Human Rights LL.M. Fellowship is jointly coordinated by Columbia Law Schools Human Rights Institute, the focal point of human rights work, education, critical reflection, and scholarship at the Law School, and the Office of Graduate Legal Studies, which manages the Schools LL.M. and J.S.D. Programs.
Fellowships offer partial to full waivers of tuition, and in some cases, a living stipend, depending on the applicants demonstrated level of financial need.
Applicants must demonstrate experience in international human rights and a commitment to a career in the field, whether in academia and/or human rights practice.

Eligibility: To be eligible for admission to the LL.M. Program, applicants must hold a first degree in law. A degree in a field other than law, even if followed by a master’s degree in law, generally does not suffice for admission. The Canadian Institute of Actuaries is offering scholarships through its The Graduate Scholarship Program (GSP) to eligible students. The GSP promotes research and/or graduate-level coursework in actuarial science, to accelerate the transfer of new technology and original knowledge to the industry.
Offer: Three scholarships of up to $10,000 each are available to eligible master’s students.Scholarships for part-time student support: $5,000 for the first year, renewable for one more year will also be considered.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Planning to start a master’s program in September 2018, or already enrolled in first year of graduate studies (began September 2017 or January 2018).
- Field of study is actuarial science or a cognate discipline in Canada. (A master’s program in mathematics, statistics, business, or finance with an actuarial concentration may also be eligible, but preference will be given to those applying to departments with a recognized actuarial leader/researcher.)
- Undergraduate degree in actuarial science or a related discipline earned before August 31, 2018.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a professional actuarial designation. (Preference will be given to students pursuing professional actuarial exams and/or CIA University Accreditation Program credits.)
Note: Master’s programs focused solely on the preliminary actuarial exam syllabus are not eligible. While the CIA welcomes applications from foreign students, in the case of a tie for the three scholarships, preference will be given to Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

The selection committee evaluates applications based on the following criteria:
- Relevance of the MSc program to actuarial science, the type of program, and the nature of its courses and proposed research;
- The applicant’s academic and/or professional record (GPA);
- Results of professional actuarial exams or CIA University Accreditation Program credits;
- Academic or professional goals;
- Academic/professional experiences;
- Letters of reference; and
- Other characteristics, such as communication skills, leadership experiences, and extracurricular activities.

This program was set up to assist undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Motherland – AFRICA – to acquire knowledge in Universities, Colleges and other Institutions of learning in the United States. It is an initiative of the Union of Africa Americans in the United States as part of a special contribution for the development of the human resources of the Motherland.
Eligibility:
This scholarship is open to only African students not above age 35. To qualify for selection, candidates must meet the stated basic requirements, in addition to ensuring that entries are made not later than the specified deadline date. Candidates are selected from the fully completed entries received and which are verifiable before 31st December. Successful candidates are notified before end February of the following year.
Strong willingness for intellectual pursuit is a necessary prerequisite. Not all applications to this program are considered. To succeed, an applicant must submit relevant details of sound academic background, and information through which verification can be made.
Recipient’s Entitlements
A recipient of the scholarship will be assisted to study in United States Free of tuition throughout the duration of the chosen program. In addition, the recipient will provisionally receive an annual allowance of US$3,000 for welfare. A recipient will also be assisted to get Student Visa which will expire at the end of the chosen program of maximum five (5) years.
Optionally, a recipient/student under this program will be assisted to secure a part-time job which enable the student work while schooling and earn extra income. This is only done on request.
